Outlander snubbed at Golden Globes for 2024 nominations

Outlander Golden Globes Exit and Game of Thrones

Golden Globes snubbed long prevailing Starz time travelling romantic thriller “Outlander” for nominations once again. Fans loving Outlander are furious once again after the news and they have taken their voices in social media to raise their voice and verdict.

This is not the first time snubbing happens to Outlander at Golden Globes. In 2018 the full set of Outlander cast boycotted the participation from Golden Globes. Since then nothing worked for Outlander for Golden Globes nominations.

However, fans do believe Starz has something further to do with the process of getting noticed and nominations at big events like Golden Globes. A devoted fan on Facebook group started the conversation “Outlander missed out on the Golden Globes again. It was stated because of release time in Season 7. STARZ needs to pay more attention to deadlines so Outlander can get its well-deserved awards.” It is not a secret that many actors including Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe supported the strike that prevailed for more than four months asking by the writers to have limits on AI use in entertainment industry. Another fan who admires beauty of the show throughout the decade adds “I am not going to measure OL’s amazingness just by the awards the show is nominated into. That’s not why I follow the show and the actors. I won’t let these award giving bodies take away my love for the world I chose to follow, just because they were “snubbed”. The actors made the show for the fans and not just to win awards.”

Outlander fans are very much interested in making the show to win awards. Part of the blame goes to streaming agent Starz a fan claimed “They (Starz) know exactly what they are doing. For some unknown reason they don’t want outlander to receive awards, time and time again….”

Many fans also commented on how Game of Thrones (GOT) won many awards than Outlander as these two series are from same genre. A fan adds her thought “Game of Thrones is broadcast by HBO which is a far more accessible service than Starz. It was seen by a much larger audience than Outlander.” while another remarked “It just bugs me that because GOT was a show made in another country (like Outlander is) and done by HBO that they are snubbed even though there are millions of fans. Is so unfair! So when people say Outlander doesn’t get recognized in the US on awards show its not because they aren’t good enough, its just that that aren’t promoted by HBO.”

Well there are some contrasting metrics behind the tow series when comparing Outlander with HBO’s GOT. Outlander is great at devoted fan base that it created since 2014. But during the decade we see a seesaw of performance overall. The season 01 was the greatest of all. Since then the series is lacking something as we feel it. GOT in the meantime has over more than 16+ million fan base across the world. But Outlander is only having 2+ million of fandom. GOT as fans know produced in four different countries the cast crew and the equipment used for the production were new and appealing.

What brought fan’s happiness throughout the decade was Jamie and Claire’s onscreen unending romance. A fan really obsessed with the romance it brought adds “I am not going to measure OL’s amazingness just by the awards the show is nominated into. That’s not why I follow the show and the actors. I won’t let these award giving bodies take away my love for the world I chose to follow, just because they were “snubbed”. The actors made the show for the fans and not just to win awards.”

Outlander by far is one of the greatest stories of the century. The time travelling aspect transporting Claire back to 1700s in season one made the show interesting. Her dedication romance mixed wittiness made the show even cleverer. Jamie in the meanwhile taught every man how good he has been as a lover. Sometimes fans miss that type of lover in their lifetime. That’s why still the story “Outlander” exists.
